As the alchemists <b>failed to invent the elixir </b>, they wanted to preserve their formula for elixir for later. to preserve, they <b>added 30% of saltpeter to it</b>, which is also highly flammable. When they found out that after adding the saltpeter to it could explode. They hence , used it as a gunpowder. And this is the unfortunate history of the gunpowder.</span></div>
