Get off with cheetah, there's a new runner in town! A Southern California Mite has set a new record as the world's fastest animal and has taken us by surprise!! The Mite can run 20 times faster than a cheetah which is also the same as a person running 2092 km per hour. The biological name of the mite might be so big- Paratarsotomus Macropalpis, but this World's fastest animal is not so big in size even as a sesame seed.

Mite- World's fastest animal

The Mite has also outclassed the Australian tiger beetle, the world record holder for its running speed as calculated in body lengths per second. The Beetle runs 177 body lengths per second. It's speed is equivalent to a human running 770 km per hour, which is just more than a third of the mite's speed. Although small in size, Mite, World's fastest animal, was recorded running at up to 322 body lengths per second.
Let's all take a second to make way for the fast runner! and congratulate the Mite on becoming the World's fastest animal!!
